Care Instruction
Care Instruction
To ensure your cast iron cookware and products last for generations, follow these essential care tips:
Before First Use
-
Wash: Rinse with warm water and a small amount of mild soap. Dry thoroughly.
-
Season (if not pre-seasoned): Rub a thin layer of vegetable oil over the entire surface. Heat the cookware and cut an onion and fry them for about 7-10 mins, dis card the onion and the cookware is ready to use.
Cleaning After Each Use
-
Avoid Soap: Clean with hot water and a stiff brush or sponge. Use soap only if necessary and avoid harsh detergents.
-
No Soaking: Never soak cast iron in water—it can cause rust.
-
Dry Immediately: Towel dry immediately after washing to prevent rust.
-
Re-oil: After drying, apply a very light layer of oil to the cooking surface to maintain seasoning.
General Use Tips
-
Preheat Slowly: Allow cookware to warm up gradually to avoid cracking.
-
Use Any Utensils: Metal, wood, or silicone utensils are safe to use.
-
Avoid Acidic Foods: Long cooking of acidic foods (like tomatoes) can strip seasoning.
Storage
-
Keep Dry: Store in a dry place. If stacking, place a paper towel between items to absorb moisture.
-
Ventilate: Do not store with lids on tight; moisture can build up and cause rust.
Rust? Don’t Worry!
If rust appears, scrub it off with steel wool, rinse, dry, and re-season as needed.
